Meet everyday father extraordinary artist

An intense artist who is intoxicated with art, Nitish has a clear fascination for the female form and spiritual symbolism. Completely self-taught, he has pursued learning art like a child would a language. He began dabbling with art and colors when he was seven years old and was deeply inspired by the beauty of nature in the vibrant hues of Kerala, his hometown. An old soul, he believes he is connected with the spirit within and is consistently amazed with how art takes form. For example, during a power cut, he used the candle flame to create art and began smoke painting.

He has a very fluid perception of art and has created over 150 pieces in oil, acrylic, collage and smoke painting. To a writer his pen, to Nitish his Staedtler Fineliner. You can be sure to find him hunched over his pocket doodle book creating his latest line doodle during his free hours. From Gibran to Rumi, his particular connection to spiritual symbolism comes from his early exposure to philosophy.

His most defining milestone in his art journey has been the selection of three of his pieces by See. Me. Art Curator, New York. He was one of the two artists whose work was displayed in the Times Square, NY. Also significant were his exhibitions at the All Kerala Group Exhibition(Spastics Society, 2002) and, Rangoli Art Gallery, Bangalore(June 2015)

Ayahuasca Awaits was the title of his art showing in the summer of 2015. Inspired by Ayahuasca, a plant of the Amazon rain forests, Nitish displayed his work that had several themes including - nature, freedom, love, spirituality, strength and women, and form a means to transcend oneself.

He is attracted to the vibrancy of colors to the extent that his food choices in restaurants and ice cream parlors are based on its visual appeal. As you peruse his work, you will find that blue, yellow and red hues are prominent in all his works. His inspiration is often a thought lying in the back of his mind waiting for its time to come, or simple conversations with people, or even a question in the books he reads.

His painting has several elements and layers soothing one’s soul at the same time triggering larger questions at a subliminal level.

Once you finish clicking through his works of art, look again, for there is something that your soul has seen and your eyes haven’t.
